Iceland Landscape Photography

Iceland sits atop the Mid-Atlantic Ridge where two tectonic plates are slowly pulling apart, creating one of the most geologically active and visually dramatic landscapes on Earth. In a single day you can photograph erupting geysers, black sand beaches pounded by the North Atlantic, ancient glaciers, and cascading waterfalls—often in the same dramatic storm light. These images capture the thundering curtains of Skógafoss and Godafoss, the volcanic rock found throughout the island, and the endearing puffins and unique Icelandic horses. Iceland's rapidly changing weather and near-24-hour summer daylight create photographic conditions that are endlessly surprising.
