Arizona Desert Landscape Photography

Arizona's landscapes are defined by deep time—the Colorado River took six million years to carve the Grand Canyon, exposing nearly two billion years of Earth's geological history in a single view. From the sprawling Kofa National Wildlife Refuge to the swirling lunar landscape of White Pocket, this state is a photographer's playground of color and form. These images showcase feisty teddybear cactus at golden hour and ancient cactus silhouetted against vivid desert sunsets. The dramatic contrast between clear blue skies and red rock makes Arizona one of the most visually striking states in the US.
