Alaska Wilderness Photography

Alaska's sheer scale is almost incomprehensible—larger than the next three biggest US states combined, it remains one of the last truly wild places on Earth. From the dramatic crevasses, to the fascinating wind-carved sastrugi, to the mirrored reflections of mountains, Alaska rewards photographers willing to embrace its unpredictability. These images capture glaciers, the ethereal greens and purples of the aurora borealis dancing over snowfields, magical ice caves, and remote mountains only accessible by helicopter. Alaska's long summer days and golden "magic hour" light that stretches for hours make it unlike anywhere else I've photographed.
